A practising barrister has claimed the Israeli government ‘orchestrated’ an Islamist terrorist attack on a synagogue in Manchester – and that it is now ‘plotting to assassinate’ King Charles – provoking widespread outrage.

Sham Uddin, who describes himself on LinkedIn as ‘a barrister-at-law, accredited mediator, writer, and philosopher’, posted a video making the claims to his social media accounts just 24 hours after Jihad Al-Shamie, 35, targeted Heaton Park Synagogue in Manchester on Thursday.

Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66, both members of Manchester’s Jewish community, were killed during the murderous rampage, which coincided with Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. Another three people remain in hospital.

In his video, Uddin – who has 24,000 followers on TikTok and 30,000 on Facebook – said: ‘Breaking news – it is rumoured that the Israeli government orchestrated the attack in the synagogue in Manchester yesterday, October 2, 2025.

‘The Israeli government has sleeper cells in the UK and the USA and they activate them at their will.’

He then went on to explain his claim by mentioning Mossad’s pager attack on Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah in September 2024 – adding that ‘the Israeli government have sleeper cells in the United Kingdom’.

Uddin then made a second claim declaring the Israeli government is plotting to kill King Charles as a way of ‘creating a race war in the UK’.

In the video, he said: ‘It is rumoured that King Charles is on the Israeli government’s target list to be assassinated.

‘They will assassinate him just before the elections in order to get the right wing activated and in order to create a race war in the UK. You have been warned.’

According to the Bar Standards Board (BSB), Uddin formally qualified in March 2015 and currently has a valid licence to practise until April 2026.

His primary practice address, at Greenvern Law Chambers, is listed at a premises in Great Barr Birmingham, nestled between Nails World pedicure bar and the Beaufort Arms pub.

Uddin is also listed at another address in Tyseley, Birmingham, which is located opposite several furniture stores and a Chinese restaurant.

He practises across family, civil and criminal law, according to the prominent sign placed on his chambers, alongside a picture of Uddin dressed in his barrister wig and gown.

Uddin has previously shared anti-Israel posts to his social media, including an October 7 conspiracy theory that the government allowed the attacks to take place in a bid to ‘expel’ Palestinians.

In a post shared previously on Linkedin, Uddin said: ‘There is evidence that in my opinion that this attack by Hamas was done with the connivance of certain parts of the Israeli government, which was to expel the Palestinians from Gaza in order to bury the two-state solution.’

In another post he said: ‘This is not a conspiracy theory but reality.’

He went on to describe the October 7 Hamas massacre as a ‘false flag operation’ and said it was ‘an act committed with the intent of disguising the actual source of responsibility and pinning blame on another party’.

Uddin formerly stood for election as an independent MP in 2024 in the east London constituency of Bethnal Green and Stepney. He subsequently lost against Labour’s Rushanara Ali, who won her seat with 15,896 votes against his 325.

After his latest video emerged, advocacy group Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) described Uddin’s claims as ‘deranged conspiracy theories’.

CAA called on the Bar Standards Board to suspend and investigate Uddin over his ‘delusional allegation’, adding that Uddin’s views could risk ‘sparking violence’ and ‘hatred’.

A spokesperson for CAA said: ‘Less than a day after Jews were murdered outside their synagogue, a barrister is circulating deranged conspiracy theories that the Jewish state carried out the attack.

‘This is not some anonymous troll but a practising barrister. His delusional allegation that Israel is plotting to assassinate the King is grotesque, incendiary and dangerous.

‘When Jews are being killed in Britain, this kind of bile risks sparking violence. Yet still, extremists are indulged while the Jewish community buries its dead.

‘How much longer are the authorities going to sit on their hands as hatred metastasises into violence?

‘The Bar Standards Board must immediately suspend Sham Uddin and investigate without delay. The police must urgently examine this material too.

‘Failure to act will send a clear signal that even regulated lawyers can incite against Jews with impunity.’
