Pink Floyd legend Dick Parry, who died in May at 83, reportedly left his family £50,000. Throughout his career, the iconic saxophonist played on some of the band’s biggest tracks, including Money, Us and Them and Shine On You Crazy Diamond. His death was announced by lifelong friend and rock icon David Gilmour, who confirmed: “My dear friend Dick Parry died this morning.” In the Instagram statement, the guitarist paid tribute to Parry, penning: “Since I was seventeen, I have played in bands with Dick on saxophone, including Pink Floyd.

“His feel and tone make his saxophone playing unmistakable, a signature of enormous beauty that is known to millions and is such a big part of songs such as Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Wish You Were Here, Us and Them and Money.” Now, legal documents reveal, Parry died without a will, leaving an estate worth £50,741. According to the probate records, the musician had £53,341 in the UK before debts and other liabilities were deducted.

The documents obtained by the MailOnline showed that the sum was reduced to £50,741 after those liabilities were deducted from his estate, which is a fraction of the vast fortunes amassed by Pink Floyd’s best-known stars.

David, who was Pink Floyd’s lead guitarist, was ranked as being worth £115 million by The Sunday Times Rich List in 2018, making his fortune more than 2,000 times the value of Parry’s final estate.

While Roger Waters, who quit Pink Floyd in 1985, after co-founding the band in 1965 and being its bass guitarist, is now said to be worth around £160 million.

Parry, who hailed from Kentford, Suffolk, died after a remarkable career spanning more than five decades.

The saxophonist reportedly married and divorced three times during his life, and leaving behind three children from his marriages.

Parry had two children with his first wife, Gwen, and another with his third wife, Millie.

The musician died from undisclosed causes and left no will, meaning his estate will be divided between his relatives under the rules of intestacy.

Although he never officially became a member of Pink Floyd, Parry was far more than a hired session player and known to fans as the unofficial sixth member.
