A fitness instructor who claims she’s ‘shed 20lbs this year’ has revealed the high-protein foods she purchased from Aldi to achieve her transformation.

Hawys Davies, who brands herself as a ‘fat loss/muscle growth coach’, distributes diet and slimming advice on Instagram through her @coaching_in_hd profile. Her 51.4k followers were enthusiastic about one of her recent reels where she disclosed what she had been purchasing from Aldi to assist her weight reduction.

The footage started with Hawys appearing outside the store as overlay text stated: “Aldi protein bangers I buy to drop 20lbs this year.”

She then explains: “I lost 20lbs this year eating high-protein, high-nutrient and in a calorie deficit.”

The fitness instructor’s initial Aldi suggestion was dark chocolate – selecting a Moser Roth 70% cocoa bar. She informed followers: “It’s actually full of antioxidant and great for snipping your sweet cravings.”

Next, she placed some chipotle chilli wraps into her basket, explaining they contained fewer than 100 calories. “They’re great for packing with salad and protein,” she explained.

Her third choice was The Fingermonger’s Tuna tins, selecting the ‘Soy and Ginger’ variety, alongside the ‘Chilli and Garlic’ and ‘Lemon and Thyme’ options. “They are the perfect single serve and come in three spicy little flavours,” she remarked.

They’re also only 99p so brilliant for the purse strings too. Following this, Hawys informed her followers: “You know I love a pre-made salad. These Tandoori Chicken Buddha Bowls are a little over 300 calories and have a decent whack of protein.”

Next up was the meat aisle, where the fitness enthusiast was spotted picking up some turkey mince, which she claimed has “slightly more nutrients than chicken”. She also couldn’t resist the chicken mince, as it was on offer with a 30% discount.

But Hawys wasn’t finished with the meat section yet, as she tossed some lean pork sausages into her trolley too, each containing just 71 calories. She suggested they’d make a “nice change for your weekend fry-up”.

Moving onto the fruit section, she picked up some “wonky strawberries”, which she praised as delicious and “only 100 calories per punnet”. In the vegetable aisle, she selected some sweet potatoes to whip up air fryer fries – describing them as an “excellent source of fibre and Vitamin A.”

She also added a packet of Turkish grains to her trolley for some “added protein and fibre”, but decided to pass on the sugar-free jelly, arguing it would do “naff all to fill you up”. She similarly gave the protein pizza a miss, suggesting you can make your own version with fewer calories and more protein.

Wrapping up her video, she declared: “Now I set off with a skip in my step and a bag of certified bangers.”

Viewers were absolutely delighted with the clip, with one fan gushing: “This is actually super helpful to put into perspective when you have little meal prep time, especially the flavoured tuna! Tysm for this!”

Another chimed in: “Those tuna tins are amazing. I think there’s more than than 3 flavours too.”

A third simply said: “Great post,” whilst a fourth begged: “Tell me more about the protein pizza!”.

The revelation follows Hawys previously sharing details about the nutritious lunch she purchases from Tesco to aid her weight loss journey.
