Donald Trump’s allies – and foes – who have blamed Pam Bondi for ‘covering up’ the Epstein files are still demanding accountability after the President fired his embattled attorney general.
Representative Nancy Mace, a South Carolina Republican and loud MAGA voice, skewered the outgoing Cabinet secretary as Trump brutally ousted her.
She’s being temporarily replaced by her deputy Todd Blanche while Trump decides on a successor.
Ex-Representative Lee Zeldin, now serving as EPA administrator, is being floated as a potential pick.
Mace ripped into Bondi for handling the Epstein Files in a ‘terrible manner’ that ‘seriously undermined’ Trump.
She added that she would ‘welcome’ Zeldin as a potential pick.
Bondi has faced fury from across the political spectrum over her botched release of the Epstein files earlier this year, including leaving victims’ names unredacted while keeping secret the names of alleged abusers.
The former AG was scheduled to be deposed by the US House Oversight Committee on April 18th after the two-week Easter recess, an appearance that Democrat Ranking member Robert Garcia is convinced still has to happen.

‘Pam Bondi and Donald Trump may think her firing gets her out of testifying to the Oversight Committee,’ Garcia noted in an X post, before adding ‘They are wrong – and we look forward to hearing from her under oath.’
In a statement, Garcia added that Bondi must answer for her mishandling of the Epstein files and the special treatment she has given Ghislaine Maxwell.’
In a statement to the Daily Mail, the House Oversight Committee’s GOP spokeswoman noted, ‘Since Pam Bondi is no longer Attorney General, Chairman Comer will speak with Republican members and the Department of Justice about the status of the deposition subpoena and confer on next steps.’
Ted Lieu, a House Democrat from California, jabbed at Bondi, adding that she ‘would be wonderful at the super prestigious position you can create called the ‘Very Special Attorney General for the Shield of the Americas.’
Trump fired Bondi as his attorney general after she desperately pleaded for her job in a late-night White House showdown.
Bondi becomes the second Cabinet casualty in less than a month – brought down by months of MAGA fury over her botched handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, a saga that has dogged Trump’s Justice Department since Day One.
‘Pam Bondi is a Great American Patriot and a loyal friend, who faithfully served as my Attorney General over the past year,’ Trump wrote on Truth Social.
‘Pam did a tremendous job overseeing a massive crackdown in Crime across our Country, with Murders plummeting to their lowest level since 1900,’ Trump also added in his Truth Social post.
‘We love Pam, and she will be transitioning to a much needed and important new job in the private sector, to be announced at a date in the near future,’ Trump concluded.
Trump said that Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche will serve as acting attorney general until a permanent nominee is picked.
