Danish bakers and coffee house Ole & Steen has just announced a massive giveaway of 500,000 slices of their beloved Cinnamon Social pastry. This month, the bakery which is celebrated for its Danish treats and welcoming atmosphere, is offering both new and loyal customers the opportunity to embrace “hygge” – the Danish concept of relaxing and cherishing life’s simple pleasures – by giving out free portions of their bestselling Cinnamon Social throughout the month.

Ole & Steen’s star creation, the Cinnamon Social, features flaky pastry layers packed with rich, tasty fillings and finished with icing. There is also a plant-based option on offer for vegan customers.

This treat is crafted for sharing among mates and relatives as a 12 or 6-slice creation, or enjoyed as a personal indulgence but you’ll need to be quick if you want to grab your hands on one. It comes after Brits are told to never put one banned item in garden bins as you could face punishment.

‘I regret marrying an older man, one part of our history has given me the ick’

‘I tried butter from Tesco, Aldi, Lidl and big brands – and the winner is not Lurpak’

A spokesperson for Ole & Steen said: “We’re thrilled to share the cheer and holiday spirit of August with our guests by offering a taste of Denmark’s beloved traditions. The cinnamon social is one of our most iconic bakes, and gifting a record breaking 500,000 of them across our UK stores is our way of saying thank you.”

“Whether you’re a long-time fan or trying it for the first time, we hope this little moment of indulgence brings a smile and a sense of hygge to your day.”

Newbies can nab their complimentary slice, typically costing £4.25, by downloading the Ole & Steen app from the App Store and signing up.

Once registered, users will be gifted 100 points and a voucher for a free slice of Cinnamon Social, which can be redeemed in-store or via Click & Collect (minimum £3 spend for Click & Collect orders).

But don’t fret if you’re already an app user – loyal customers will also be treated to a voucher for a gratis slice, ensuring everyone gets a bite of Denmark’s beloved pastry.

This generous offer follows hot on the heels of Ole & Steen’s fresh summer menu launch, boasting a selection of premium open rye sandwiches.
