While some of us may have the sun shining into our homes throughout the day and bringing in a bit of warmth, this quickly disappears when the sun sets. Not wanting to be left shivering as we wait for the heating to switch on, many people are looking for alternative ways to bring heat into their homes.

One solution that many people may have not considered is your curtains. Many retailers currently sell thermal curtains that help trap the warmth in your home, which should last throughout the night.

For those looking for a bargain, Dusk has included the Herringbone Thermal Blackout Eyelet Curtains in its current winter sale. Able to save 20 per cent on your purchase, all shoppers need to do is add the code JAN20 at checkouts.

Available in three sizes and two shades – off white or light grey – shoppers can choose the set that best fits their needs. By using the code, shoppers can drop the 168cm by 182cm curtains down from £80 to £64, while the 168cm by 228cm is now £72 instead of £90.

These curtains are available in three sizes and two colourways to fit your needs. Able to block out light and keep your room warm, these curtains are ideal for the cold winter months.

Meanwhile, the 228cm by 228cm Herringbone Thermal Black Eyelet Curtains has dropped from £110 down to £88 in the sale. Featuring an elegant herringbone design and a neutral colourway, these curtains are sure to add a touch of class to your home.

Also equipped with a three-pass blackout coating, these thick curtains will block out any unwanted light to provide an uninterrupted sleep. On top of this, these curtains boast an insulating coating that promises to keep you warm in the winter, as well as cool in the summer.

Meanwhile, Dunelm has reduced the price of the Wynter Thermal Eyelet Curtains. Now retailing for between £40 and £120, these curtains are available in a whopping 18 colourways – all of which are in the sale. However, it should be noted that some sizes in certain colours have already sold out so shoppers need to be quick.

Alternatively, Debenhams has cut the price of Dawn 100 per cent Blackout Thermal Eyelet Curtains, which usually retails for between £80 and £200. Available in 10 colourways, including olive, burnt orange and light beige, shoppers can now snap up a set for between £45 and £115.

Back to the Herringbone Thermal Curtains in Dusk’s sale, they currently boast a 4.87 star rating with many customers praising the light coverage and design.

One happy shopper wrote:”The lining of these curtains have kept the sun out the dining area and great coverage at night. They hang really well and feel more expensive than what they are. Easy to steam and hang.”

With another five-star reviewer gushing: “Really nice weight, soft, and completely block out the light. Go really nicely with my green walls.”

However, some shoppers did leave mixed reviews. One person wrote: “Nice and pale curtains, not as thick as we thought they’d be but still lovely quality.”

Homewares deal of the week

If your current bed has become a bit worse for wear, we have found a cracking deal in Wayfair’s New Year’s sale. Shoppers can now get hundreds off the popular Balcer Ottoman Double Storage Bed in a variety of different headboard designs.

All the designs, which are available in either beige or grey, have been given a massive discount. The diamond and jade designs have dropped from £549.75 down to £275.99, an impressive £273.76 saving.

The ruby bed has also been cut from £537.25 to £256.99, saving shoppers £280.26, while the pearl design is now £264.99, down £234.76 from its £499.75 RRP, and the sapphire bed is only £296.99 in the sale, a saving of £152.76 from £449.75.

The Balcer Ottoman Bed is available in a double and blends natural aesthetics with added practicality. Featuring a handy lift-up design, this bed is ideal for homeowners who are lacking storage space. Simply raise the frame and you will have access to space to store extra bedding, towels and other clutter.

With a 4.3 star rating, one delighted shopper said: “Absolutely love this bed!! It’s a light champagne colour and luxurious velvety soft material. It feels sturdy and the delivery was very quick.”

Shoppers can now grab the comfy Balcer Ottoman Double Storage Bed for £200 less in Wayfair’s New Year sale.

While another person noted: “Warm and lovely pattern. Feel good quality. Unfortunately they are slightly too short for my window so I will need to return.”

Despite this, a top reviewer praised: “These are great quality for the price. They are heavier than expected and have done a great job of insulating as well as blocking out light. I initially bought one set, and have gone back and ordered several other sets for additional rooms. Would definitely recommend.”

Shoppers can now save 20 per cent on the Herringbone Thermal Blackout Eyelet Curtains in Dusk’s winter sale.
