Marks and Spencer has delighted shoppers with the return of a beloved festive drink after ten years – and it comes after a surge in popularity over the summer

One thing Marks and Spencer know is how to put on a good Christmas feast – and the supermarket has just announced the return of a popular festive tipple after ten years.

Summer may be over, but it doesn’t mean we need to stop drinking rosé, and according to M&S, rosé season is all-year round as it’s announced a lighter, fruitier twist on your festive mulled wine with the new Rosé Mulled Wine.

M&S was the first high street store to launch a mulled rosé a decade ago and now with demand for rosé higher than ever, what better time to bring back the pink version of this winter warmer.

Last year, the supermarket reportedly sold over 100,000 bottles of rosé in the week before Christmas, making it one of the biggest weeks for rosé sales outside of summer and confirming that Brits are content to drink pink wine all year round.

Blended in Germany, and the home of Christmas markets, this fresh take on a festive classic has notes of zesty orange, vanilla and traditional mulling spices. Simply warm gently in a pan and serve with a slice of orange and a cinnamon stick. Maddie Love, Product Developer at M&S Food, said: “We know rosé isn’t just for summer and so we’re declaring that rosé season is officially all year round with the triumphant return of our Rosé Mulled Wine.

“I’ve always preferred lighter styles of wine and last Christmas our first-to-market White Mulled Wine was such a hit that we thought: why don’t we give it a delicious pink twist? It’s the perfect way to add some much-needed cosiness when the autumn days are starting to get chillier – I love it with a warm mince pie.”

It comes after the beloved retailer’s highly popular Christmas Food To Order slots are officially open for bookings. Ideal for those who want to beat the mad December rush, the service allows customers to book a collection date at their local M&S store, before choosing the items they would like to add to their own festive feast.

Once the slot is secured, shoppers do need to pay a small deposit of £50 before paying off the rest of the entire balance when they pick up their order on their chosen date and time. To truly get shoppers into the festive spirit, M&S has officially unveiled a look at its entire Christmas 2025 menu, with 90 “magical” dishes, festive exclusives and on-trend items that are unavailable to buy at any other retailer.

Available to shop from the M&S website and Ocado, customers will find “show-stopping” turkeys, a host of party food, veggie and vegan options and also some decadent looking desserts that will polish off any meal.

Adding to its luxuriousness, there is a host of dishes inspired by Michelin-star chef Tom Kerridge such as the Collection British Fillet of British Beef Wellington, alongside other centrepieces including a Handcrafted Turkey & Stuffing Pie and Build by Numbers Charcuterie and Antipasti Grazing Platter.

To ensure no-one misses out, vegans and vegetarians can enjoy the likes of Butternut Squash, Brie and Caramelised Onion Wellington, Plant Kitchen No Turkey Crown and a Bubble and Squeak Vegetable Stacks.
