Fans have accused Liverpool of copying Arsenal‘s corner tactics during their Boxing Day victory over Leicester City.

The Reds established a seven point lead at the top of the Premier League as they came from behind to beat the Foxes 3-1 at Anfield.

And viewers watching the game noticed something familiar about their approach to corner kicks.

They claimed it was strikingly similar to the routine that Arsenal have enjoyed so much success with in recent times.

The Gunners have become set-piece kings, scoring 22 goals from corners since the start of last season.

The north London club like to position a block of players at the back post with the group holding their position until the corner kick is taken.

The Reds have been accused of copying  title rivals Arsenal's tactics at corners

The Reds have been accused of copying  title rivals Arsenal’s tactics at corners

They then scatter forward, causing chaos in the opposition penalty area.

And this was pretty much what Liverpool did on Thursday night, though they failed to have success.

‘Liverpool copying Arsenal’s corner kick routine,’ wrote one with a series of laughing emojis while another said ‘is it me or does this corner kick routine look familiar?’

An Arsenal fan wrote on X: ‘They called us stoke City FC only for Liverpool to go ahead and copy our corner routine.’

Another posted: ‘Liverpool fans cried about arsenals corners for months just for their team to copy it play for play.

Others highlighted the lack of effectiveness compared to their title rivals.

One wrote: ‘so let me get this straight, every Liverpool FT account, fan, Carragher mocking Arsenal corners day in, day out.

‘Only to go and try and copy them, and make it look impossible to score one.’

Arne Slot  told his Liverpool team to use Manchester City’s collapse as a warning that their comfy cushion at the top of the Premier League could fall apart very quickly if they are not careful.

And Slot said the speed in which City tumbled from leaders to seventh should be a stark warning. ‘If you are in this game for a long time, you know 20 games before the end, you don’t look at the table,’ he said.

‘It was only one month ago we were one point behind City and look what has happened.

‘This can happen to any team. It is far too early to be celebrating. You’ve been at all these games like me and there have not been many easy wins.

‘That tells you how difficult it is to win if all of your players are available. We just have to take it one game at a time.’
