Twitter is to allow US users to edit their posts in exchange for a fee after successful trials in Canada and Australia.
The social media site has launched its premium “Twitter Blue” service in America and New Zealand, giving users access to features such as an undo button which allows them to change a post up to 30 seconds after publishing it.
Subscribers to the service, which costs $2.99 (£2.20) a month, will also be able to read advert-free news articles on websites including The Washington Post and The Atlantic.
Twitter first launched the service in Australia and Canada over the summer and has since been taking feedback from customers.
A spokesman said: “We’ve been listening to and learning from the most passionate and vocal people on Twitter as to what will make their experience more customizable, more frictionless, and simply put – better.”
Other features include being able to upload videos of up to ten minutes, compared to two minutes for regular users.
