Trump ‘should be worried about Epstein’, lawmaker seethes as Andrew’s arrest sparks fresh fury

Donald Trump is facing a furious backlash from lawmakers over the handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case after former Prince Andrew was arrested by British police.

MAGA rebel Marjorie Taylor Greene ripped the administration for failing to make any arrests as cops detained the King’s brother on Thursday over allegations of sharing confidential trade information with the convicted pedophile.

‘The UK has arrested Andrew because of the Epstein files and over here the President signed an EO protecting cancer-causing Glyphosate in our foods and we have zero Epstein-related arrests and investigations since [the] release of the files,’ Taylor Greene posted on X, referring to the president’s recent health policy announcements.

‘We are on the verge of going to war against Iran. That’s the current state of MAGA,’ she added as America’s largest force since the Iraq War masses in the Middle East.

Democrats are also doubling down on their calls for American authorities to move forward with prosecutions after the Justice Department last week finally released all of the remaining Epstein documents.

House Oversight Committee Democrats leading the Epstein charge called Andrew’s arrest on Thursday an ‘enormous step forward in our fight to secure justice’ for survivors and blasted a Trump administration ‘cover up.’

‘It’s time for the United States to end this White House cover up. President Trump and his Epstein Administration are not above the law,’ they said.

Representative Stephen Lynch of Massachusetts, who sits on the Oversight Committee, warned that Trump should be worried.

Lynch also told CNN this morning that US authorities are doing nothing: ‘It offers a great contrast. Look what the British government is doing in light of the evidence, and look what the US government is doing. Nothing. Our chief law enforcement officer, Pam Bondi, is defending and obstructing the investigation.’

Representative Melanie Stansbury, a New Mexico Democrat, wrote on X: ‘If a prince can be held accountable, so can a president.’

Shortly after Andrew was stripped of his royal title last year, Lynch and other US lawmakers called for him to testify before Congress over the Epstein files during an October 2025 interview on BBC‘s Newsnight.

Republican Congressman Thomas Massie, who, along with Democrat Ro Khanna and Taylor Greene, pushed for the release of the Epstein files, said Andrew’s arrest was ‘the metric [he] established for success of the Epstein Files Transparency Act.’

‘Now we need JUSTICE in the United States. It’s time for @AGPamBondi and @FBIDirectorKash to act!’ Massie posted on X.

Congresswoman Nancy Mace, a Capitol Hill Republican who is running for South Carolina Governor, chimed in as well, posting on X, ‘If you’re watching a former prince get arrested today, remember: four Republicans refused to flinch, refused to fold, and forced the Epstein files into the light.’

‘Courage has consequences. So does corruption,’ Mace added.

In the UK, the fallout has been dramatic, with Andrew arrested on his 66th birthday and firings at the highest levels of the British government over Keir Starmer’s hiring of Epstein friend Peter Mandelson as US Ambassador.

The Oversight Democrats X account pledged that ‘no one connected to Jeffrey Epstein will escape accountability for their crimes. Our work is just beginning, and we will pursue justice for every individual who participated in the abuse of women and girls.’

Ro Khanna, Massie’s co-lead on the pressure campaign to release the Epstein Files, added, ‘Even princes are not above the law.’

‘@RepThomasMassie⁩ & I forced the release of an email showing former Prince Andrew allegedly shared state information with Epstein,’ Khanna added.

‘On Feb 9th, I called on King Charles to investigate & answer questions,’ Khanna concluded.

For the past ten days, detectives have been probing Andrew’s conduct as a trade envoy for the UK after emails in the Epstein Files suggested he shared confidential information with his pedophile friend, including reports of his official visits and potential investment opportunities.

Oversight Democrats also requested last week that Mandelson appear before Congress to testify about his ties to Epstein.

‘We are requesting that he comes before Congress to share what he knows and help bring closure to survivors,’ they wrote last Friday.
