A brand new superhero movie has just been released, and fans are going wild for it. Starring Pedro Pascal, The Fantastic Four: First Steps is based on the Marvel Comics superhero team, the Fantastic Four. It is the 37th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and the second reboot of the Fantastic Four film series. The film was directed by Matt Shakman and was based on a screenplay by Josh Friedman, Eric Pearson, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps has a stellar cast, including Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Joseph Quinn, Julia Garner, and Ralph Ineson, among others.

The film’s synopsis reads: “Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” introduces Marvel’s First Family–Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.”

The new Fantastic Four movie has been receiving high praise from critics and fans alike. The film has an 88% rating from the critics on Rotten Tomatoes. Their consensus states: “Benefitting from rock-solid cast chemistry and clad in appealingly retro 1960s design, this crack at The Fantastic Four does Marvel’s First Family justice.”

The audience however, rate the film even higher at 93%, they say: “The Fantastic Four takes the world by Storm, Thing, Reed, Johnny and baby, forging a new path for this bespoke family that, with these First Steps, leaps into cosmic action with retro-futuristic verve.”

One audience reviewer described the movie as “the best movie ever”.

Another gave viewers a tip: “Best Fantastic Four movie ever and the best MCU movie since Spider-Man: No Way Home. Be sure to stay for at least the first of the two end credit scenes.”

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is out in UK cinemas now.
