Oasis gigs prompt council to ‘take action’ | Music | Entertainment

Oasis have played a string of gigs at Manchester’s Heaton Park over the past week, and they aren’t done yet. The band, comprised of brothers Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher, still have two shows taking place this week, with Edinburgh and London shows still to come. However, due to the popularity of the shows, tickets to the Oasis reunion gigs have become a hot commodity throughout the country. As a result, some fans have been attending the newly dubbed “Gallagher Hill” to glimpse the concerts’ large screens from a distance.

Now, Manchester City Council has erected new steel fences around the park to “prevent ticketless fans from watching the gigs” as well as to “protect the nature in the park” as reported by Sky.

Manchester City Council stated: “After taking stock of how the first two nights went, additional measures have now been deemed necessary and will be in place for the next three concerts.

“The erection of the fencing has a dual purpose – both to protect the environment from further damage and to dissuade people from gathering there. The necessary measure means the concert will no longer be visible from this area.”

Thankfully, for fans who can no longer see the screens from afar, and do not have tickets, there are still methods of purchasing them before the gigs kick off this week.

A number of websites – both official and resale – have plenty available right now. Below, we have listed all the options fans have to get involved.

Oasis tickets are available right now from either resale or official websites.

Second-hand websites have the most tickets available right now. These retailers, including viagogo, Vivid Seats and StubHub, allow fans to buy and sell their ideal tickets at the drop of a hat, all the way up to the day of the gig in question.

And, at the time of writing, some gig tickets are being sold for around £300 each. Here’s the links:

Alternatively, fans can look at official retailers to get their fix.

There are three websites fans ought to keep an eye on to get their Oasis tickets.

Ticketmaster is first up. And while they sold out in minutes last year, a few official resale tickets have popped up on their network over the past few weeks. With that said, they did sell in minutes, so fans need to keep a close eye on the web pages.

Secondly, Twickets is the official resale partner of Oasis’ tickets. While they have been out of stock for some time, it is always possible that further tickets will become available in the days leading up to gigs. Be sure to set up alerts to be notified of new tickets.

Finally, Seat Unique has VIP and hospitality tickets available. These include such perks as complimentary food and drink, early access to the venues, post-show parties, goodie bags, and much more.

Here are the links to all three:
