The discount store made the cryptic announcement on social media this weekend – and fans are buzzing
B&M has updated fans on social media about a new product that is sure to please many chocolate and pistachio fans. The treat is causing a craze across the UK, and B&M has joined those offering affordable versions.
On the official B&M Instagram account, a staff member explained: “I’m here to tell you that our Dubai chocolates are landing.” They added: “And, to be honest, they are worth the wait.”
In the clip, the worker catches a 400g bag of TikTok-viral Dubai-style chocolates and shows it to viewers. The chocolates will soon be sold in stores across the UK for £4.99 a pack.
He added: “For just £4.99, you get 400g worth of Dubai chocolate, which would be perfect for sharing.” He continued: “If you want to have them all to yourself, that’s fine, too.”
The clip then cuts to show the new and upcoming DUB Dubai Chocolate packet on a shelf. The video did not add any further details about when shoppers can expect to see these appear in their local B&M, but it seems there will not be long to wait.
For those not in the know, the original Dubai Chocolate Bar is called “Can’t Get Knafeh Of It”. Fix Dessert Chocolatier, a Dubai-based brand in UAE, created it and it went viral online, especially on TikTok.
The bar is a blend of milk chocolate filled with pistachio cream and crispy kataifi (shredded phyllo pastry). It is said to be inspired by knafeh – a Middle Eastern dessert.
People have been going wild for this chocolate treat when it took over social media – with some desperate to buy some here in the UK. But, with the original version being made and sold in Dubai, it can cost a lot to import to real deal to the UK.
Since taking over the internet, UK stores have been coming up with their own Dubai-style alternatives that combine the key ingredients without the major price point to match. Brands like Lindt, Home Bargains, and Lidl are all selling some form of the treat—be that classic chocolate bars, bite-sized pieces, or cakes.
Supermarket Aldi recently announced that shoppers will be able to find the viral-style treat in frozen form later this month. The discount supermarket unveiled its Dubai-style Ice Cream earlier this month and confirmed it would start being stocked in freezers from April 14.
Follow B&M’s social media feeds to stay up to date on the release of its version. Alternatively, you can check stores in person, as they’ll likely appear soon in the sweet aisle.
