Fans may have a second chance to get their hands on the rare bars

Chocoholics rejoice as the rare Dubai-style chocolates that became a social media sensation are making a comeback. Lindt has revealed its sought after bars will be making a return, alongside some new variations.

Following their UK debut last year with strictly limited stock, the buzz around Lindt’s Dubai-style chocolate 145-gram bars was palpable. They were available only in a few Lindt stores and disappeared almost as quickly as they arrived in December.

Despite the scarcity, other brands have been quick to ride the wave of popularity, crafting their own versions to meet keen demand. Now, Lindt announced the return of these coveted bars to all their UK shops, as well as on the shelves of major retailers like Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, and Ocado.

Sainsbury’s and Ocado reportedly already stock them, while Waitrose patrons might have to hold out until March 31. And there’s more good news for chocolate fans.

Lindt is also launching new products in the Dubai-style range. This includes a Dubai Style Chocolate Praline Box and a smaller 40g version of the original chocolate bar.

These exciting additions made their grand arrival just yesterday, March 21, at the Lindt flagship store in London. Stefane Bruderer, a master chocolatier at Lindt, said: “We know how much our consumers enjoyed this chocolate bar when we first launched and how much demand there was, so it’s an honour to make it more widely available this time around.”

Lindt has reportedly introduced its Dubai-Style Chocolate bar via TikTok shop, retailing at £3.99 plus £1 postage. Home Bargains is also offering its own bite-sized variant named ‘Dubites’, available in store for £3.99 for a 100g pack.

The Dubai chocolate trend began to dominate social media in 2021 after Fix Dessert Chocolatier founder Sarah Hamouda’s fusion of contemporary confectionery with traditional Middle Eastern flavours and regional desserts went viral. The Lindt version was swiftly released and became a major success following its launch in New York, attracting some from across the globe for a taste.

In November, the chocolate bars were launched in Germany where some enthusiastic fans braved the rain and queued for hours in hopes of securing one. Speaking to the Independent at the Aachen store launch in Germany, some customers disclosed they’d journeyed over 4,000 miles to reach the store, which only had 100 bars in stock.
