Lidl shoppers have praised the latest addition to the store’s baked goods section. Those who spotted the treat claimed it was “a steal,” as the ‘topping probably costs more than the cake’.

The supermarket’s ever-popular bakery section is a frequent destination for shoppers who want to grab fresh bread and pastries. Occasionally, the discount supermarket will pull out some seasonal baked goods to tempt customers—and these gooey brownies did not fail.

Priced at just 89p each, the chocolate brownies packed with mini eggs are available to pick up during your supermarket shop. They’re a limited-time special, so anyone who wants to get some better should not wait around.

These won’t be suitable for everyone, though. The label above the product states that they were made with eggs, milk, soy and wheat – which rules out anyone lactose intolerant or following a gluten-free diet.

Shoppers piled into the comments section to share their thoughts about the decadent Easter treat. One joked: “There’s like £4k worth of mini eggs on those brownies – what a steal!”

Another added: “Their brownies are already incredible, and now they’re adding mini eggs?! Stop it OMG!” A third wrote: “Nice one Lidl. I can’t promise I’ll stick to my diet now these are selling!”

A fourth declared: “Why is everyone hating on the best brownies in the world? Stop moaning and just leave them all for me please!” There was a shopper who described having one as “delicious”. Another called them “utterly stunning”.

But not everyone was racing to the budget supermarket. Someone commented: “I can’t stand the self-serve. I’ve seen too many people picking them up with their hands or dropping them and putting them back.”

There was another person who said: “Keep them! You don’t know who’s touched them!” The supermarket recently hit headlines for another sweet treat on offer. But, for now, you won’t find it in a single supermarket.

Lidl announced its own version of the viral Dubai-style chocolate that was going on sale this week. But, instead of adding the bars to the usual sweet section, the supermarket decided to sell 6,000 bars via the platform that made the treat so popular to begin with – TikTok
