Sydney Trains announced on Monday morning that urgent track repairs were being undertaken at Central Station.
Several lines have been impacted including the T9 Northern Line, T1 North Shore Line, T2 Inner West and Leppington Line and T1 Western Line.
A number of trains have been cancelled while other services have been delayed.
Shuttle trains have been organised to take commuters between Wynyard and Hornsby, as well as between Berowra and North Sydney.
