Joy Behar defends Biden’s ‘senior moments’ on The View: ‘He’s overcome a lot of disabilities’

Joy Behar leapt to President Biden’s defense ahead of his highly-anticipated debate with Donald Trump and said it is ‘not fair’ to imply he suffers from ‘senior moments.’

The View host offered a firmly anti-MAGA view as she argued that Trump should be forced to speak from an ‘isolation booth.’

‘This idea that when Trump keeps talking, his mic is shut – that’s not enough because Joe Biden can still hear him,’ Behar said.

‘And this senior moment business, everybody has a senior moment… it’s still not fair to the guy.’

Biden’s rematch with Trump is expected to be among the most viewed debates in American history, with both sides attempting to downplay expectations of the others’ performance ahead of time.

But The View criticized hosts CNN for their assertion that they will not fact-check the candidates in real time, which they argued favors Trump.

If Biden or Trump speak out of turn, their mics will be shut off, which Behar felt was not enough to stop the former president from speaking over Biden if he flounders.

‘This idea that when Trump keeps talking, his mic is shut – that’s not enough because Joe Biden can still hear him,’ Behar said.

‘He’s like where you are to me. If you keep yammering, I can still hear you. They need to be in like one of those quiz show isolation booths.’

Behar felt that although Biden has a ‘minute to rebut’ anything Trump alleges, the network’s decision not to fact check live means it is leaving it ‘up to Joe.’

‘So when he says something stupid and lying then it’s up to Joe,’ she said.

‘And this senior moment business. Everybody has a senior moment. It’s still not fair to the guy.

‘If he’s thinking and he stutters. He’s overcome a lot of disabilities. The poor guy in his life, you know, and leave him alone.’

Behar appeared to be alluding to Biden’s past issues with stuttering, amid growing perceptions among voters that the 81-year-old is too old for another four years in the White House.

It comes as millions of Americans count down to the CNN debate, with President Biden seen earlier on Thursday for the first time in seven days.

Biden had spent a week deep in debate prep at Camp David, before departing on Marine One

The debate could be a make-or-break moment for the 81-year-old, as Americans are wary about giving the oldest president in history a second term.

It will be a big test of the president’s mental fitness as he’ll be onstage with only a pad, pencil and a bottle of water.

While both candidates are known for their gaffes, debate coaches told DailyMail.com that Biden is in more danger of coming off worse due to voter perceptions about his age.

‘If Biden glitches out then that’s the ballgame. That’s it for him because he has so much more to lose in this debate than President Trump,’ GOP debate coach Gail Gitcho said.

Brett O’Donnell, who’s also coached GOP presidential candidates, agreed that Biden couldn’t afford a major gaffe, but argued it was ‘high-stakes’ just as much for Trump.

‘Remember the rule of debates is: You can’t win an election on a political debate but you can lose it,’ O’Donnell told DailyMail.com. ‘Donald Trump is winning right now. The only place he can go is down.’
