The reviews may not have been unanimously positive, but there’s still a great deal of buzz about Sony’s next PlayStation 5 exclusive, which is developed by Spider-Man studio Insomniac Games. Marvel‘s Wolverine is an all-out action game starring the popular mutant anti-hero. The game features fast-paced hack and slash combat with gallons of blood and gore.
The good news for fans is that the game launches very soon, with Marvel’s Wolverine having a September 15 release date exclusively on PS5. It’s even better news for UK fans, because the game has a midnight BST UK release time. This means if you’re willing to stay up late you can start playing Insomniac’s new action-packed blockbuster later tonight.
The game weighs in at a pretty sizeable 79.32GB, so it’s definitely worth downloading now, especially if your internet is on the slow side.
There are currently two different versions available from the PlayStation Store, including a Standard Edition for £69.99, and a Deluxe Edition for £79.99.
The Deluxe Edition comes with a selection of bonus items, including five exclusive suits, five exclusive claws, four technique points, an early unlock of the classic brown Wolverine suit, early access to the Reflective Claws and four PlayStation Avatars.
If you’ve already purchased the standard edition, then you can upgrade to the Deluxe version for an extra £10.
To celebrate the launch of the game, Sony has also released a selection of Wolverine-themed hardware and accessories.
This includes a Wolverine DualSense controller featuring claw marks across the front of the pad. It comes in Battle Yellow and Adamantium colour schemes.
Elsewhere, Sony has released a themed PS5 console in the same Battle Yellow colour scheme as the controller.
The console comes with the aforementioned controller, as well as a yellow Wolverine face plate featuring claw marks and the character himself.
The console is available for £569.99, or you can purchase the standalone face plates for £64.99. The controller retails for £74.99.
