One man has been killed and another person is fighting for their life after three cars smashed in a horror crash following a police chase.
The terrifying incident, which occured in Croydon last night, also injured five other people.
Police say they spotted the victim, 63, driving with suspected cloned plates at 8:28pm and initiated a chase ten minutes later after they attempted to stop the car.
The eight minute pursuit was ended when the victim’s car crashed into two others on Wickham Road – which remains closed today.
The driver of the car was given CPR but sadly died at the scene.
His two passengers, both aged 61, were arrested on suspicion of being in a stolen vehicle – with one of them also being arrested for possessing class A drugs.
They remain in custody.
The Met has referred itself to the Independent Office for Conduct following the chase.

A spokesperson said: ‘The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards was immediately informed and a referral made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) which is a required step whenever vehicles are involved in a collision involving death or serious injury following a police pursuit.
‘The IOPC will now carry out an independent investigation.’
