A female solo traveller has revealed the one destination she will never visit again.

Sharing to over one million viewers on TikTok, @whereismalikah revealed how she was ‘treated like dirt by other black people in Saint Kitts.’

Introducing the video, she said: ‘You guys love to ask me what the most racist places I’ve been to are, how the racism is in different countries especially since I have lived in and travelled to a lot of countries.

‘So today I’m going to tell you about the worst place I’ve ever travelled, where I was treated the most poorly, had the worst time and will never be going back.’

She explained how her dreamy Caribbean escape turned into a nightmare where beach servers, hotel staff, locals and shop owners purposely ignored her.

The travel influencer intimately spoke to the camera, she said: ‘It started at check in, really at arrival of the hotel because when I pulled up there were you know people outside to welcome new travellers, give them a fresh drink and check their luggage and no one offered me that.

‘I just didn’t sweat it too much because I only had a carry on and I’m like oh all these people they’ve just got big bags, so I didn’t need help anyway but it’s still nice to be offered.’

After being ignored upon arrival, hotel staff acted claimed they couldn’t find her reservation and looked down on her for not choosing the all-inclusive option – with no offer to upgrade.

Sharing her ordeal with her followers, she added: ‘The time that I spent hanging out at the pools or on the beach was just awful, I could barely get a drink to save my life, I cannot get a server to come take care of me literally to save my life.

‘I would see them walk past my chair to every other white person and then when you try to make eye contact and try to wave them down and get attention when you’re ready to order, they’re still looking everywhere but at me or looking at me and then looking away.

‘Also even housekeeping was really s***ty, like the first two days they didn’t make up my room even though I had the thing on the sign that says make up my room.

‘It got to the point where every morning when I left I would have to call the manager and say hey please make sure that someone comes to my room today.

‘And I’m travelling by myself and actually kind of bonded with another black female solo traveller over this because she was seeing the same s**t so we just kind of started hanging out together and commiserating over our experiences.’

The holiday got worse when she left the resort and was overlooked by people working in the markets.

Gesturing her head back and forth with a blank expression on her face, @whereismalikah mimicked how shop owners treated her in a ‘very standoffish’ manner.

Her saving grace was a corporate group who spent time with her on her final day and a half of the trip.

She ended the viral video, telling her followers: ‘And so it really was like a terrible, sad time, because I had never been treated like that.

‘I never had that kind of experience on vacation.

Honestly, my last day kind of getting adopted by this corporate retreat really did make a difference and the place where all this happened to me and where I was treated like dirt was by other black people in Saint Kitts.’

Viewers expressed their shock with one person commenting: ‘I was not expecting St. Kitts’

Another added: ‘Whaaat???!! Fellow Caribbean here – Bahamas (which is pretty famous for friendliness) I’m so shocked! Anyone have a theory why? I could hear the pain in her voice and it broke my heart!’
