A survival horror game that’s arguably yet to be bettered, Konami’s psychological horror masterpiece Silent Hill 2 is finally getting a modern makeover, nearly a quarter of a century after making its PS2 debut back in 2001. The long-awaited Silent Hill 2 remake is being developed by virtual horror specialists Bloober Team, whose previous credits include Layers of Fear, Observer and The Medium. While the Silent Hill 2 remake has an October 8 release date for PS5 and PC (via Steam), Digital Deluxe customers will be able to access the game 48-hours early. Of course, you’ll need to pay extra for the pleasure, unless you take advantage of this handy money saving trick courtesy of CD Keys. As you can see from the link below, CD Keys is selling £70 PlayStation Store cards for just £62.99. This means you can purchase the £69.99 Silent Hill 2 Deluxe Edition for just a few pounds more than the £59.99. Standard Edition.

After purchasing a top-up card from CD Keys, the retailer will send you a link with the code that can redeemed on the PlayStation Store.

Once you’ve added the credit to your PlayStation account, you can pick up the £69.99 Deluxe Edition of the game, having only actually spent £62.99.

In addition to 48-hours early access beginning at midnight on October 6, the Digital Deluxe Edition comes with a digital artbook and soundtrack.

That’s on top of a smattering of in-game items, including a Pyramid Head Mask, Robbie the Rabbit Mask and Mira the Dog Mask.

The upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake will benefit from enhanced visuals and sound, as well as various other quality of life improvements.

It also adopts the popular over-the-shoulder gameplay style popularised by fellow survival horror games like Resident Evil 4.

Indeed, the combat system has been updated with new moves such as the ability to dodge attacks and aim down sights.

While Bloober Team has been keen to retain the spirit of the original and not change too much, fans can also explore new locations and buildings that were previously inaccessible.

“Enjoy the same acclaimed story, even while you experience the town of Silent Hill with fresh eyes across an expanded map,” the company explains.
