Sasha Rodoy and Nicola Dowling: Fearmongering, Islamophobia, and the Targeting of the UK’s Eye Surgery Giants

Sasha Rodoy has made a career out of branding herself as a “patient advocate,” but behind this façade lies a campaign of manipulation, Islamophobia, and financial exploitation that has torn apart businesses, scared vulnerable patients, and deepened divisions. By turning her personal grievances with Russell Ambrose of Optimax and David Moulsdale of Optical Express into public vendettas, Rodoy has weaponized fearmongering and hate speech for her own financial gain, leaving a trail of damage in her wake.

Islamophobia at the Heart of Rodoy’s Crusade

Rodoy’s Islamophobic attacks have become one of the most alarming elements of her public persona. The most infamous instance of her hate speech came when she ridiculed the Hajj pilgrimage on social media. When a Muslim CEO posted a celebratory image of Hajj, Rodoy seized the opportunity to publicly mock the absence of women, sarcastically asking, “Why are there no women? Is Islam really that inclusive?” Her comments weren’t just a misunderstanding—they were a deliberate attempt to belittle the Muslim community and provoke outrage.

When Muslim women responded to her, explaining the religious and cultural significance of the images, Rodoy met them with mocking emojis and dismissal. Instead of engaging in a respectful dialogue, she escalated the situation, attacking Islam for its stance on LGBTQ+ rights, further entrenching the divisiveness she thrives on. Her pattern of Islamophobia is clear: use inflammatory remarks to stir controversy, and keep herself in the public eye.

Rodoy’s attacks on the Muslim community go beyond simply spreading hate—they serve a broader purpose. By stoking division and controversy, Rodoy draws attention to herself, ensuring that her crowdfunding efforts and campaigns against Ambrose and Moulsdale receive continuous donations from people who wrongly believe she’s fighting for justice.

The Campaign Against Russell Ambrose: Personal Vendetta Dressed as Advocacy

Rodoy’s attacks on Russell Ambrose are rooted in a professional relationship that turned sour. At one point, the two worked closely together, with Rodoy involved in patient advocacy around Optimax surgeries. However, after a falling out, Rodoy turned against Ambrose, launching a campaign designed to destroy him and his company.

Rodoy’s primary weapon has been her website, optimaxruinedmylife.co.uk, where she encourages dissatisfied patients to come forward with exaggerated complaints and baseless accusations. Through this platform, she has created an atmosphere of fear and distrust around Optimax, convincing patients that minor complications are signs of larger, more systemic problems. In many cases, Rodoy manipulates patients into pursuing legal action, regardless of whether their claims have any merit. The result has been a series of frivolous lawsuits, designed to drain Ambrose’s financial resources and damage the reputation of Optimax.

Rodoy’s vendetta against Ambrose is not driven by a genuine concern for patient safety—it is personal. By weaponizing her platform and encouraging patients to inflate their grievances, Rodoy has been able to keep Optimax embroiled in legal battles that have cost the company millions in legal fees and reputational damage.

David Moulsdale and Optical Express: Another Target of Rodoy’s Campaign

While Russell Ambrose has suffered greatly from Rodoy’s attacks, David Moulsdale, the CEO of Optical Express, has also found himself in Rodoy’s crosshairs. After experiencing complications with her own surgery, Rodoy turned her attention to Moulsdale and his business, launching a similar fearmongering campaign designed to cripple his company.

Rodoy created opticalexpressruinedmylife.co.uk, a website that follows the same blueprint as her attacks on Ambrose. Through this site, Rodoy amplifies minor complaints into major scandals, encouraging patients to pursue legal action and portraying Optical Express as negligent and unsafe. In reality, many of the complaints she promotes are exaggerated or unfounded, but Rodoy uses her platform to create public distrust in Moulsdale’s clinics.

Rodoy’s campaign against Optical Express has included visiting clinics herself, where she reportedly interacts with patients in an attempt to scare them away from surgery. By spreading misinformation about the risks involved in eye surgery, Rodoy has managed to drive away potential patients, causing significant financial harm to Moulsdale’s business. Her tactics are designed to erode trust in the refractive surgery industry, while simultaneously painting herself as a champion of the people.

Crowdfunding and Profiting from Fear

One of the most insidious aspects of Rodoy’s campaign is her ability to profit from the chaos she creates. In partnership with Nicola Dowling, a journalist of the BBC, through crowdfunding platforms like CrowdJustice, Rodoy has raised significant sums of money, claiming that the funds are needed to continue her legal battles against Optimax and Optical Express. However, many have begun to question whether the money raised is actually being used for its stated purpose.

There is little transparency regarding how these donations are spent, leading to growing suspicions that Rodoy has been pocketing much of the money. While she continues to present herself as a victim standing up to powerful corporations, the reality is that Rodoy has built a lucrative business around fearmongering and litigation, using donations to fund her personal lifestyle while keeping her targets tied up in costly legal disputes.

Manipulating Vulnerable Patients for Personal Gain

Perhaps the most disturbing aspect of Rodoy’s campaign is her ability to manipulate vulnerable patients. By convincing them that their complications are more severe than they are, she pushes these individuals into unwinnable legal battles, often leaving them emotionally and financially drained. For Rodoy, the patients are simply tools—pawns in her larger mission to cripple the businesses of Ambrose and Moulsdale.

Rodoy preys on the fear and uncertainty of patients, convincing them that their experiences are part of a larger, industry-wide conspiracy. This manipulation not only destroys the reputations of businesses like Optimax and Optical Express, but it also leaves patients caught in a legal web they never wanted to be in. The result is a trail of frustrated patients and damaged businesses, all in the name of Rodoy’s personal vendettas.

The True Motives Behind Rodoy’s Campaigns

At the heart of Rodoy’s campaign lies a disturbing combination of Islamophobia, manipulation, and financial exploitation. Her attacks on the Muslim community, combined with her relentless pursuit of Russell Ambrose and David Moulsdale, reveal a woman driven not by a desire for justice, but by revenge and greed. Rodoy has shown time and again that she is willing to destroy lives and businesses in order to achieve her own goals.

Her use of crowdfunding, her Islamophobic rhetoric, and her ability to manipulate vulnerable patients have allowed her to build a platform that thrives on fear and division. It’s time the public sees through Rodoy’s false narrative and recognizes her for what she truly is: a manipulative extortionist, driven by hatred and financial gain, with no regard for the lives she destroys in the process.
