A woman has been charged after a man’s body was found on the driveaway of a rural property.

Emergency services were called to a property in Darkwood – about 67km west of Coffs Harbour – around 7pm on Thursday following reports a body had been found.

Officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District attended and found the body of a 62-year-old man in a surfboard bag on the driveway of the property.

A crime scene was established, and officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District – with assistance of officers from State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad – established Strike Force Nome to investigate the death.

Police arrested a 35-year-old woman on Loftus Street, Nambucca Heads yesterday at about 2.10pm yesterday.

She was taken to Macksville Police Station where she was charged with murder (domestic violence).

Police will be alleging in court the woman and man were known to each other.

She has been refused bail overnight to appear at Port Macquarie Local Court on Saturday.
