President Joe Biden is set to hold Fourth of July festivities at the White House Thursday evening with his and his party’s future on the line amid growing pressure to step down after last week’s debate performance.Â
It comes after the first elected Democrats came forward to urge Biden to step back, with just weeks to go before his party’s convention in Chicago. With fury over White House messaging since Biden stumbled his way through his debate with Donald Trump in Atlanta, the president reassured governors in a private meeting about his health and political viability – even telling them about a recent check up that had him in good health.
That came shortly after White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre dodged direct questions during a contentious press briefing about whether Biden had been evaluated since Thursday’s debate.
Biden is set to set to host veteran families, caregivers, and survivors, at an event that will put him back on the public stage, before a crucial interview with ABC interview is set to start airing Friday. Vice President Kamala Harris will be there.

Joe Biden’s longtime friends ‘shocked’ after president forgot their names, others who meet him feel ‘disturbed’
Some of Joe Biden’s friends and top supporters are shocked at his elderly behavior and controlling inner circle.
According to anonymous sources close to the president who spoke to the Intelligencer, the president is forgetting the names of old friends and is easily manipulated by close confidants like his wife and top aides.
Some ‘were shocked to find that the president did not remember their names,’ the report states.
Others who interacted with him socially were left ‘disturbed,’ according to the sources.
Some of the elite supporters came away from their interactions wondering if Biden was actually in control of the presidency at all, the sources said.
Gaza-supporting activists loudly protest at Republican senator’s HOME on 4th of July
A crowd of protestors lined up on Sen. Lindsey Graham’s street Thursday loudly cheering in support of Palestinians.
‘Lindsey Graham we’re not done, the intifadah has just begun,’ they chanted while a member played a makeshift drum to keep the group on beat.
‘I want to make it crystal clear: I am with Israel wholly and completely,’ the South Carolina Republican posted on X following the event.
‘While I respect the right to peacefully protest, I apologize to my neighbors and their families for the disruption on the Fourth of July caused by this pro-Palestinian group,’ he said.
Biden tells governors he needs more sleep and plans to stop scheduling events after 8 p.m.
Trump’s Fourth of July post includes best wishes to ‘highly incapable’ Biden and ‘Laffin” Kamala Harris – a new nickname
Former President Donald Trump wished a happy Fourth of July to his political rivals – ‘highly incapable’ President Joe Biden and ‘Laffin” Vice President Kamala Harris.
It appears that ‘Laffin’ Kamala Harris’ is a new nickname for the ex-president.
In the Truth Social post shared Thursday afternoon, Trump mocked Biden’s debate performance, saying he ‘choked like a dog’ and then tried to ‘pretend it was “International Travel.”‘
Trump continued, ‘and, when that gig was up, he blamed it on a “cold.”‘
‘Therefore, why would anyone say he’s cognitively challenged?’ the 78-year-old presumptive Republican nominee mused.
In the week following the debate, a handful of Democrats have publicly called on Biden to bow out of the race.
Others are whispering it might be the right thing to do, if Democrats want a chance to retain the White House in the fall.
‘Also, respects to our potentially new Democrat Challenger, Laffin’ Kamala Harris,’ Trump then said.
Trump noted how Harris dropped out of the 2020 race before the Iowa caucuses but then added that it doesn’t mean she’s not ‘highly talented,’ referencing her ex-boyfriend, San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown.
The former president’s Truth Social post comes after he was caught mouthing off about Harris from his golf cart.
‘She’s so bad. She’s so pathetic. She’s just so f**king bad,’ Trump said.
Another Democrat hits Joe: House lawmaker rips Biden’s ‘arrogant’ campaign as debate fallout continues
A Democrat congressman from San Diego called Biden’s campaign ‘arrogant’ and stated he is unsure Joe can win at this point.
‘The question just now is, is this a candidate who can win the election because, as much as I love Joe Biden, in those swing states, he’s having a hard time,’ Rep. Scott Peters, D-Calif., said Wednesday evening in a local interview.
‘We needed a boost from Thursday. We didn’t get it, and the campaign has been very, I think, arrogant in their response. We want to know what their plan is to win this election and turn these numbers around. If they don’t have a plan, then I think we have to move in a different direction.’
So far, two Democratic House lawmakers have called on Joe Biden to Withdraw.
And two other Democrats in the chamber have openly claimed they believe Trump will win.
Team Biden pushes ABC to air entire Stephanopoulos interview with Joe on Friday as make or break weekend begins
The White House is frantically moving to get President Joe Biden in front of cameras and crowds on an expedited schedule this July 4th weekend after growing calls from within his party to step down after his debate disaster.
Biden’s handlers had already put in place a taped, sit-down interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos to try to fend off calls from lawmakers and donors to demonstrate that he is still up to the task of campaigning.
But after a Wednesday meeting with the nation’s governors that failed to quell mounting calls for his ouster from the Democratic ticket, ABC announced hours later that the entire interview will air in one shot, days earlier.
The full interview will now air in prime time on Friday night – giving Americans their first extensive look at the president in a Q&A format since Biden trailed off, rattled off odd phrases, and appeared to lose his train of thought repeatedly during Thursday’s debate with Donald Trump.
‘Friday is still a tardy response, given that this controversy will have been spiraling for over a week, but waiting until Sunday would have been too late,’ a former adviser to Moitt Romney told DailyMail.com
Exclusive:Lunden Roberts reveals hush money deal offered to her by Hunter Biden’s lawyer in forthcoming book
By Nikki Schwab, Chief Campaign Correspondent for DailyMail.com
After Hunter’s paternity was established, his lawyer asked Roberts if she would ‘single-parent adopt’ the little girl and sign an NDA in exchange for $250,000, she writes in her book, out August 20.
Her response, she writes, was filled with expletives.
‘Oh, hell no. They can shove that NDA up the a** and their f***ing offer,’ Roberts said she told her lawyer.
President Joe Biden discusses Hamas war with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu with VP Kamala Harris on the line
By Jon Michael Raasch, U.S. Political Reporter
President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hopped on a call Thursday to discuss a ceasefire in the Jewish country’s ongoing war against Hamas.
Egyptian and Qatari leaders have been helping the US and Israel negotiate a deal with Hamas, but their attempts to exchange hostages have still largely fallen flat.
A White House official told CNN about the VP joining the discussion. Her joining the call comes as questions over Biden’s age and ability mount.
Harris’s involvement on the call shows her involvement in top foreign affairs, which could be a reassuring sign for Democrats who look to her as a backup to Biden.
She is also headlining a 4th of July event with the president later this evening at the White House – giving her a prominent placement as people wonder about who will secure the Democratic nomination.
Joe Biden MUST take a cognitive test, overwhelming 70 percent of voters say in new Daily Mail poll as president’s ability to lead nation appears shaky
President Joe Biden needs to undergo a mental and physical health check because his condition has obviously deteriorated over the past year, a majority of likely voters revealed in an exclusive DailyMail.com poll.
A stunning seven out of 10 respondents said that the president should take a cognitive test after the 81-year-old overwhelmingly concerned voters, politicians and pundits with his disastrous Atlanta presidential debate against Donald Trump.
The survey of 1,000 likely voters, conducted days after the debate, also found that 70 percent think Biden should also get another overall physical examination.
Biden blamed his poor performance last week, in part, on being sick with a cold, one the White House has said he got during his international trip – 19 days ago.
Major questions loom over the commander-in-chief’s bill of health, prompting a frenzy of meetings among Democrats worried about their prospects in November – including whether Biden should be replaced atop the party’s ticket.
Jill and son Hunter push Joe to fire staff as another Biden comes to the rescue
Jill and Hunter Biden are taking command behind the scenes at the White House, urging President Joe Biden to fire staff they believed were of disservice to him and to fight on as the Democratic nominee.
Meanwhile, the president’s sister, Valerie Biden Owens, who has served as Biden’s ‘gut check’ and closest adviser, is on her way to the White House for the July 4th celebrations, where she will have face-to-face meetings regarding her brother’s re-election campaign.
Jill, Hunter and Valerie are the three most important people in any decision Joe Biden makes about his future.
He listens to them the most. They would need to give their blessing from him to exit the presidential race. But a new report from NBC News reveals how the trio is circling the wagons in support of Biden staying in the race.

By Katelyn Caralle, Senior U.S. Political Reporter
The future of President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign could hang on his first post-debate interview.
Party members, donors and Democratic governors are giving Biden the weekend to prove he is still fit for a second term after his car crash debate.
And now, ABC News moved-up by two days release of its sit-down interview with the president.
Biden will record with anchor George Stephanopoulos on Friday morning for an interview that was originally set to air in full on Sunday.
The consequentiual chat will now air as a primetime special on Friday evening at 8:00 p.m. and parts will air during the 6:00 p.m. hour of ABC’s World News Tonight with David Muir.
Trump offers scathing ‘pile of crap’ review of Biden, Harris in leaked golf cart video
As Democrats panic over what to do about Joe Biden, Donald Trump was captured on video giving his honest, unsparing thoughts suggesting his presidential rival has already quit in secret.
In a video recorded while Trump was on the golf course, he offered a blunt assessment of his rival and his potential replacement on the ticket while talking to his fellow golfers as his son Barron, 18, sat next to him.
He referred to Biden, 81, as an ‘old, broken down pile of crap’ who is about to be ‘quitting the race’ in a brutal, occasionally expletive-laden rant in response to onlookers who praised his debate performance.

Democrat delegates are pleading for more time to decide if Joe Biden should be the party’s nominee in November.
Party officials say virtual rolle calls for the presidential nomination will be done before August 7 – but rank-and-file wants to put it off following Biden’s car crash debate and says a month isn’t enough time to decide on him leading November’s ticket.
A Northeast Democratic party delegate told Axios:
We need as much time as possible. There’s no way we can make a decision in two or three weeks.
The Democratic National Convention is in Chicago, Illinois August 19-22. At the end of that week, the party will officially put forward its nominee for president in 2024.
Texas Democratic Party Chairman Gilberto Hinojosa said:
We are still waiting to hear what Biden is going to do. We have to feel that we can win this election. Our national Democratic leadership has to make a decision on what is ultimately the best for America — and this world.
Biden claims he DID see doctor after disaster debate despite White House saying he didn’t
By Geoff Earle, Deputy U.S. Political Editor
The White House confirmed Thursday that President Biden saw a physician after his stumbling debate performance – but claimed it was just to check on a cold that advisors have said was the cause of his hoarse voice.
‘Several days later, the President was seen to check on his cold and was recovering well,’ White House spokesman Andrew Bates told DailyMail.com. There are no indications he underwent a more substantial battery of examinations.
That comes despite elected Democrats fuming about Biden’s performance and demanding answers about what went wrong. Even House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said it’s a ‘legitimate question’ to ask if it was an ‘episode, or is this a condition?’
‘A neurological scan? … Just to take a step back, it was a bad night,’ she said of the debate. Asked again when was the last time Biden was seen by a doctor, she responded, ‘I just don’t have anything beyond that.’ The White House refused to make the White House physician available for questions following Biden’s physical earlier this year or release additional medical records, although Jean-Pierre said officials were being ‘transparent.’
Politico reported that Biden told Democratic governors in private that that he was seen by a doctor and was in good health, knocking on wood for emphasis.
Biden: ‘I had a bad debate’
Emily Goodin Senior U.S. Political Reporter
President Joe Biden admitted to a Philadelphia radio host that he had a ‘bad debate’ last week but argued it didn’t out weigh what he’s done in office.
‘I had a bad debate. But 90 minutes on stage doesn’t erase what I’ve done for three and a half years,’ he told WURD Radio’s Andrea Lawful-Sanders.
Biden repeated the argument he’s made since his terrible debate performance – that one bad night doesn’t erase his record as president.
His interview with WURD lasted slightly less than 15 minutes. After the one question on the debate, Lawful-Sanders asked questions on Biden’s record with black Americans.
The president sat down with black radio hosts in Milwaukee and Philadelphia for his first post-debate interviews.
Biden is scheduled to sit down with ABC News on Friday in Wisconsin.

Biden’s stunning admission to radio host in July 4th interview, his first after train wreck debate
By Katelyn Caralle, Senior U.S. Political Reporter
President Joe Biden admitted he ‘screwed up’ his debate performance against Donald Trump last week.
He urged listeners in an interview set to air Thursday morning to look at his record over the last three-and-a-half-years in office.
Biden told Milwaukee radio host Earl Ingram:
I had a bad night. And the fact of the matter is that I screwed up. I made a mistake. That’s 90 minutes onstage, look at what I’ve done in 3.5 years.
Biden’s Milwaukee interview, the first since his car crash debate, comes as Republicans prepare to hold their nomination Convention in the Wisconsin city later this month.
