The Steam Winter Sale is about to begin for 2023. The Steam Christmas Sale has a December 21 launch date and a 6pm GMT UK start time. The sale runs for a couple of weeks, ending at the same time on January 4. This means customers have plenty of time to make savings on thousands of games, something which will be particularly tempting for anybody receiving a Steam Deck this Christmas. Fans will also be able to cast their votes in The Steam Awards, choosing their favourite titles for 2023.
Valve explains more: “Cozy on up (or throw on some sunscreen if you’re in the southern hemisphere) and explore the thousands of games on sale during the Steam Winter Sale, from developers around the world.
“Feeling adventurous? Visit any category page on the store during the sale to claim a free daily sticker.”
According to Valve, users can earn additional rewards by voting in The Steam Awards. You’ll receive a different sticker for each category you vote in.
“The Winter Sale also means voting for your favourite game in The Steam Awards,” Valve continues.
“Millions of players from around the world cast nominations during the Autumn Sale and we’ve narrowed it down to the five finalists in each category.
“Starting December 21st, you can cast your vote for the winner in each category and earn a special Steam Awards sticker for each category you vote in.”
As for the discounts, the Steam Winter Sale trailer (above) shows some of the games on offer.
Games like Baldur’s Gate 3, The Witcher 3 and Rainbow 6 Siege will all be discounted, alongside Dwarf Fortress, Euro Truck Simulator and The Hunter: Call of the Wild.
That’s on top of discounts for BattleBit Remastered, Satisfactory, Pummel Party, Atomic Heart, Starship Troopers: Extermination, New World, AEW Fight Forever, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, The Front, Tunic, Wreckfest, The Case of the Golden Idol, The Forest and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
