Do you ever find yourself thinking nostalgically about eras gone by?

Missing the 1990s and its skate parks and grunge style? Pondering the disco era of the 1970s? Or perhaps wishing you could go back in time to the Swinging Sixties?

Well, now you can – as a new theme park dedicated to historic time periods over the last century is set to open.

RetroEscapes, a new theme park based in Las Vegas, claims it will be the world’s first retro theme park.

It is set to be the world’s first nostalgia-focused theme park and entertainment destination.

The park will feature five distinct decade-themed lands; the 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.

It will also have a ‘Tomorrow Zone’, offering a glimpse into the unknown future.

Social media influencer Daniel Leo Jr is the brains behind the theme park.

He has been working on the concept with his father over the last seven years.

RetroEscapes will be designed by PGAV Destinations, whose work includes individual attractions.

For example, it’s behind Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Epcot with Walt Disney Imagineering, Manta at SeaWorld Orlando, and Cheetah Hunt at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.

It also designed full parks including Aquatica and Discovery Cove in Orlando as well as SeaWorld Abu Dhabi.

The new theme park promises an array of entertainment and features in line with each period.

For the ‘Fabulous 50s’, there will be an Elvis Presley-inspired diner and Marilyn Monroe-themed cocktail bar.

As for the ‘Peace and Love 60s’, guests can anticipate a Rocket bar, a tribute to the era’s space race.

In the 70s section, it’s all things disco. And for the 80s, gaming is the order of the day, while the 90s feature grunge sections and skate parks.

Daniel-Leo Jr announced the project on his Instagram account, sharing the news with his social media followers.

He said: ‘RetroEscapes is being designed as a hybrid indoor/outdoor, multi-level park with cooling measures in place to ensure a comfortable experience year-round.

‘We’re currently in active talks with land partners, the city/county, and strategic partners.

‘It’s still too early to give an exact timeline, but updates will be shared as things progress.’
