After years of making fans wait, Hollow Knight developer Team Cherry is finally ready to release Silksong for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC.
The countdown to launch is well and truly on, because Hollow Knight Silksong has a September 4 release date on all platforms.
The only downside is that the game won’t be available at midnight local time in each region. Instead, Hollow Knight Silksong has been given a 3pm BST release time for fans living in the UK. That’s 7am PT/10am ET in the US, 11pm JST in Japan, and 4pm CEST in Europe.
On the plus side, Hollow Knight Silksong isn’t a particularly expensive game given its popularity.
While Team Cherry could have probably got away with charging double, Hollow Knight Silksong will only cost $19.99 in the US, €19.99 in Europe and ¥2300 in Japan. UK fans can expect to pay £19.99.
It’s even better news for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, because Silksong will be available for free as part of your subscription.
Based on the recently released trailer (below), £20 is a pretty decent price for such a huge game.
Indeed, the trailer highlights the game’s vast hand-crafted world, even showing off the huge map players will be able to explore.
Likewise, Hollow Knight Silksong will feature over 200 enemies for players to battle, as well as over 40 different boss encounters.
Players are also treated to a glimpse of some of the lead character’s abilities and items, including the Sting Shard, Magma Bell and Crafting Kit.
The Hollow Knight sequel takes place in a new land, and will feature a ton of new powers and abilities.
“Play as Hornet, princess-protector of Hallownest, and adventure through a whole new kingdom ruled by silk and song!” reads the official description.
“Captured and brought to this unfamiliar world, Hornet must battle foes and solve mysteries as she ascends on a deadly pilgrimage to the kingdom’s peak.”
